Jackass star joins Love Island
Steve-O
Steve-O performs stunts on the MTV shows Jackass and Wildboyz
Jackass star Steve-O has joined the cast of ITV's reality show Love Island, making his big entrance by jet-ski.

The newcomer, 32, received a mixed reception from his fellow contestants, including model Sophie Anderton and former Boyzone singer Shane Lynch.

Steve-O, whose real name is Steven Glover, became known for performing dangerous stunts on MTV's Jackass show.

The second series of Love Island has struggled to find viewers, with audiences rarely higher than 2 million.

The programme sees 11 contestants "dating" on a Fijian island, while the public votes to decide who stays and who goes.

Steve-O's arrival caused consternation amongst the other competitors.

"He's attention-seeking and crude and insulting to be around. He's classless, uneducated and ignorant," said Anderton.

Contestant returns

On Saturday night, producers put one of last year's contestants, actor Paul Danan, back into the show.

He immediately paired off with Bianca Gascoigne, the 19-year-old stepdaughter of footballer Paul.

Other contestants include Chris Brosnan, son of Bond star Pierce, socialite Lady Victoria Hervey and actor Lee Otway.

Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole, former Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, Streets singer Leo Ihenacho, and DJ Colleen Shannon make up the rest of the cast.

Glamour model Alicia Duvall was the first person to leave the show last week, even though she had not come last in the public vote.

She stormed off the show after her fellow contestants were told they would have to choose who would be evicted.

"I'd rather quit and save myself the last bit of humiliation," she said.
