The duo, who are both famous for newspaper kiss-and-tell stories, had been ridiculed by the show's judges for their off-key performances.

They were eliminated by Louis Walsh after a public vote placed them among the bottom two contenders in ITV1's celebrity singing competition.

The pair's mentor Simon Cowell insisted they return for Monday's finale.

Earlier, Cowell said the duo's version of Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel was "once again a performance the entire country will be talking about".
