Moyles said he was looking forward to confronting Simon Cowell |
DJ Chris Moyles has told his listeners he will be taking part in TV talent show Celebrity X Factor. "I am going to do it," he announced on his BBC Radio 1 breakfast show. "I think it's pretty much all signed, sealed and delivered."
The DJ also previewed some of the songs he hopes to perform, such as Stand By Me - sung in a broad Leeds accent.
The producers of Celebrity X Factor will not confirm the names of any of the contestants until next week.
Moyles, who won a Sony Radio Award on Monday, said he would not take the competition too seriously.
All three X Factor judges will return for the celebrity version |
He said he hoped to be voted out on the first night because "you still get the same money". Celebrity X Factor will run for eight consecutive nights on ITV1 from 29 June.
Judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are returning, and the show will follow the same format as The X Factor with under 25s, over 25s and group categories.
Shayne Ward won the most recent series in December and has since topped both the album and singles charts.
