Brooke Shields played Roxie Hart in Chicago |
Actress Brooke Shields has given birth to a second daughter called Grier Hammond, her spokeswoman has said. The 40-year-old and her husband, screenwriter and producer Chris Henchy, already have a two-year-old daughter.
Shields suffered from post-natal depression after her first birth and was treated with anti-depressants.
The actress was criticised by Tom Cruise on a US TV show last year after he questioned the existence of chemical imbalances and the use of medication.
Expecting twins
Shields, who has starred in the musical Chicago on both London and New York, called Cruise's comments "a disservice to mothers everywhere".
Meanwhile, singer Melissa Etheridge and her partner Tammy Michaels have announced they are expecting twins.
Michaels will give birth to the children and sperm from an anonymous donor was used in the pregnancy.
The 44-year-old musician suffered from breast cancer in 2004, but was later declared to be in remission.
She already has two children from a previous relationship, fathered with sperm donations from rock star David Crosby.
