Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin were married for almost nine years |
US actor Alec Baldwin has accused his former-wife Kim Basinger of trying to block him from seeing their daughter. A court granted Baldwin, 48, three extra visitation days with his 10-year-old daughter Ireland, something Basinger had tried to prevent.
It is the latest round in a bitter custody battle between Baldwin and the LA Confidential actress.
Neither Baldwin nor Basinger, who divorced in 2002, were in court for the hearing in Los Angeles.
Missed visit
However, Baldwin spoke with the judge by telephone from New York.
He was granted the extra three days with his daughter because she had missed an earlier visitation due to illness.
Basinger's lawyer, Neal Hersh, objected to the request because, under the terms of their divorce, Baldwin is required to make up any missed visits within 60 days.
Mr Hersh accused the actor of using his career as an excuse to change the rules.
However, the judge said that both parents were to blame for the difficulties in re-arranging visits because of their busy schedules.
While fighting for custody of their daughter last year, Baldwin said Basinger had a "pathological need" to turn their daughter against him and requested she undergo a psychological evaluation.
Basinger's lawyers, meanwhile, said he had "severe emotional problems" and was casting "terrible aspersions".
Basinger and Baldwin separated in 2000 after seven years of marriage and divorced in 2002.
