Vincent Pastore starred in The Sopranos from 1999 to 2000 |
Former Sopranos star Vincent Pastore is to stand trial on 26 September for an alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend. The 58-year-old actor sat silently on Thursday as a New York judge presided over a prosecution plea deal offer.
He left the courtroom with his lawyer, Dominic Barbara, who refused to say if his client would accept the deal.
Mr Pastore denies two counts of assault and one count each of attempted assault and harassment stemming from an alleged attack on Lisa Regina on 2 April.
If convicted on all four counts, Pastore - who played Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in the popular mob drama - could face up to a year in jail.
At a previous hearing on 5 April, prosecutor James Zaleta alleged the actor had punched Ms Regina and grabbed her hair during a fight in his car in New York's Little Italy district.
Mr Pastore will be seen later this year in Revolver, the new film from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie.
The actor, who is free without bail, was heard discussing his radio programme, The Wiseguy Show, with his lawyer after the hearing.
