Steele lost out to Top of the Pops presenter Reggie Yates |
Monarch of the Glen actress Dawn Steele has become the eighth person to be evicted from Celebrity Fame Academy. Steele left the show on Tuesday when the public were given a casting vote over whether she or Top of the Pops host Reggie Yates should be evicted.
Five celebrities now remain in the show, held in aid of Comic Relief.
They include Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, EastEnders actress Kim Medcalf and comic Adrian Edmondson. The final will take place on Friday.
Viewers had initially voted to spare Medcalf, Edmondson and Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson.
Former Young Ones star Edmondson was notably silent after he struggled through his earlier performance with a sore throat and was left unable to speak.
After judges decided to keep Bowman on the show, the contestants were left with a choice between Yates, 21, and Steele, 29.
When both received two votes each, the decision was left in the hands of the public.
