Nick Knowles was the seventh student voted out of the house

Knowles, best known for hosting DIY SOS and City Hospital, failed to impress judges with his rendition of Anastacia's Left Outside Alone.

He lost the student vote to Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson, while comedian Adrian Edmondson was saved by the judges.

Six celebrities now remain in the show, held in aid of Comic Relief.

They include Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, EastEnders actress Kim Medcalf, Top of the Pops presenter Reggie Yates and actress Dawn Steele. The final will take place on Friday.

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, Medcalf is favourite to win, with odds of 8/11, followed by Bowman at 5/2. Yates, at 33/1, is the outsider.
