Kimberly Mathers appeared in court in Michigan on Thursday |
Eminem's ex-wife, Kimberly Mathers, has been sentenced to serve at least one month in jail after admitting using cocaine while on probation. Judge Edward Servitto ordered Ms Mathers, 29 - who was married to the rapper from 1999 to 2001 - to serve 30 days in Macomb County Jail, Michigan.
She was also ordered to spend a further 90 days on a rehabilitation course.
Ms Mathers received two years probation in January after pleading guilty to a drug charge and driving offence.
She had admitted possessing 25 grams (0.88 ounce) or less of cocaine and failing to give adequate space to an emergency vehicle.
But just eight days after being put on probation, she tested positive to using cocaine in a urine test.
In October 2003, Ms Mathers was electronically tagged after missing two court appearances.
Marriage problems
She divorced award-winning rap star Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers III - in 2001 following a reportedly stormy marriage.
They married in June 1999 and had a daughter, Hailie Jade.
Eminem has rapped in his songs about killing his former wife, leading to accusations that he dislikes women.
Kimberly Mathers previously sued her former husband for defamation over the lyrics in his song, Kim.
