When he first entered the Big Brother house, Alex Sibley looked as though he would be destined for an early exit.

The 22-year-old model from Hornchurch, Essex, initially won few friends by constantly complaining about his housemates' poor hygiene and had an apparent obsession with toilet habits.

He notched up a record 19 nominations for eviction after annoying almost every housemate with rows and sulks.

But despite living dangerously Alex survived eviction scares - and has continued to do so.

And he did make friends in the house, including Adele, with whom he famously shared an intimate moment.

He was also friendly with Tim, and when the pair were up against each other for eviction, Alex came close to quitting the house altogether.

He was only persuaded otherwise after a long session with the show's therapist.

Since Adele's eviction he has turned his romantic attentions to Kate, playing flirtatious games of "follow the van" at night.

The show may boost Alex's stagnant modelling career

Alex grew up in Hornchurch with his German mother Hannelore, a former Olympic athlete, and property developer father Richard.

His modelling career - for which he has posed naked in a German magazine - has not been terribly successful and his last job was an Armani campaign in June 2001.

Big Brother may be about to change all that, with reports that he is to be offered a �1m deal to advertise hair-styling cream.
