South Africa's ANC leader Jacob Zuma has said he fears that Zimbabwe could collapse due to the continuing political and economic crisis.

Speaking on behalf of a group of world leaders known collectively as the Elders, Jacob Zuma said a solution to solve the problems in Zimbabwe was urgently needed.

The Elders include a former United Nations Chief Kofi Annan, human rights activist Graca Machel and former United States President Jimmy Carter who have been refused visas for Zimbabwe.

They met in Johannesburg to discuss the ongoing situation in Zimbabwe.
