2008 was definitely T.I.'s year. You only have to listen to his latest album to see why which has great hits like Live your life and On top of the world plus whatever you like. He overcame his latest charge by accepting that he did wrong and overcame haters such as Shawty Lo by not responding to unnecessary beef (hate). He didn't get enough credit for the last album.It was also Akon's year. He delivered a fantastic album- Freedom. I'm so paid, Beautiful and Right now (na na na) were freat songs and he also overcame the nightclub mishap. Just because his last album is a bit different from his previous one, people are slating his album but I think it's wonderful and it shows that he is versatile unlike many artists.Lil Wayne and Britney also had a good year as well as Estelle, Wiley, Tinie Tempah (Much especially his single TEARS), Bashy, Chipmunk and most of all N Dubz with a smashing first album. I hated them at first but now, I just think they are lyrical geniuses. It's a plus that they are from the UK and write their own stuff unlike some others. Neyo did have a good year with songs like Closer and Miss Independent but I think that T.I. and Akon are more deserving of the title.I hope that Kano will come out with some more top tunes this year! I think Ghetto and Double S will be on top of 2009! Ghetto's Sing 4 Me is AMAZING!!!

Ne-Yo is na brilliant artist!!! He is one of the few celebs that i haven't seen in the press for bad reasons. He is an amazing role model for teenagers.Not to mention he has a beautiful voice!! Ne-Yo rocks! x

Personally I think this is a poor choice of act- especially one to hold the title of artist of the year. Don't get me wrong, he's great man and a fabulous performer but I don't think he is Top of 2008 by any means. I personally would have chosen MGMT- their songs 'Kid's' and 'Electric feel' were massive hits for the summer and are still played in clubs with massive gatherings on the dancefloor and cheers as soon as its been dropped. Or even Katy Perry with her sassy style and eccentric lyrics which actually push some boundaries for female pop stars. Ne-Yo's songs are generic enough- but I personally don't find them very memorable and I don't have the want to listen to them after the first hearing. Which is a fail for a pop artist indeed.

Think about all the tunes that have topped the charts or ended up top3 which have been penned by this musical genius..Reckon he's tryna sound a bit like Michael Jackson on a couple of tracks from Year Of The Gentleman.. Which for the record is one of the albums of the year.. Part of the List, BIG TUNE!!

I'm from Spain and I've been listening to ne-yo this whole year, from "My own words" to " Year of the gentleman", I love all his albums and specially singles as Because of You or Miss Independent so I think he deserves this prize for soo long!! my favourite track is closer but i can honestly say that out of so many albums i have bought by various artists ne-yo's is by far the best and thats every album he has brought out so far. unlike some artists they release a track thats brilliant which makes you go out and buy the album but then you find that you only like that one track that made you buy it in the first place. this was not the case with ne-yo as every track on there was amazing . all i have to say is ne-yo has along time to go in this business yet so watch this space.

Ne-Yo is fantastic! He is a true songwriter and can sing all sorts from solo, such as closer to doing song with other like single with new kids on the block!...that song has got to be my favourite of his. Either single or so sick.

Neyo is absolutley amazing he is super talented his voice is so beautiful, the thing I like about Neyo is his versertility look at his latest album "Year of the gentlemen" and the single "Closer" was so left field for a RnB artist but he was able to make it work, not only is he an amazing singer he is a great song writer and has written so many of the amazinG RnB tracks that we here now adays.. and he is a performer he doesnt sit down on a stoll and stand and sway mid temp!! he dances he brings life to the stage I have seen him life a few times and have had a n amazing experience everytime the energy he brings to his performances you cant help but feel apart of the production. I love everything Neyo does in my eyes he is a credited RnB artist, who has long lasting talent more of the same please Neyo we cant get enough. xx
