About 2,000 schoolchildren and members of the east end community gathered at Tollcross Leisure Centre in Glasgow to hear the news they had dreamed of.

The centre will now officially stage swimming at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 after Abuja in Nigeria lost out.
