Campus convener Alex Crichton hoped the protest could help raise funding levels.

"We are just really trying to influence that decision in any way we can.

"The University of Glasgow gives us more choice - it is especially good for the Liberal Arts.

"Without Glasgow any chances are lost of that type of degree."
