Adelle Falconer, 27, and Matthew Savage, 28, travelled from Birmingham.

Miss Falconer said: "We only came here because I'm pregnant and can't fly.

"Rhyl is the same as when I was a kid, but it's a little more dilapidated. The promenade looks a state.

"It's sad. We shouldn't lose the British seaside identity."
