The cardinals will be guided by the Holy Spirit, who is the principle leader of the Church. He won't leave them to choose the new pope by themselves. He will guide them to choose the right person. There are millions of people of faith here, there are no geographical barriers. He has united the world with love and peace, not war or domination, but love.
