It's a very bad result, and I'm disappointed. I'd hoped for a right-wing coalition.

The CDU plan to raise VAT was I think a mistake - it's one of the reasons I think we ended up in this situation.

The best option now would be to hold new elections and give everyone a chance to think again about what they want.
