I came to Mumbai 25 years ago from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. I sell vegetables. When we built this slum, nobody objected. Now they come and destroy our homes because they want to make a Shanghai out of Mumbai. What happens to us? Our lives have come to a halt. I have stopped earning, my three children have stopped going to school. Give us a place to live anywhere - a swamp, a garbage mountain, near a drain, wherever.
