"I started the blog as a personal challenge. Could I take enough photographs to post one every day?" the Blackpool photographer added.

The website has more than 556 photos, each an aspect of his life � from family portraits to studies of his environment and wider world.

This photo, he said, "is partially a metaphor in that children, especially when lost in play, are almost entirely free from the worries that fix the rest of us quite firmly to the ground".
