The A380 is manufactured in sections by a pan-European labour force, seen here celebrating the unveiling of the aircraft in January.

The wings are made in the UK, the fuselage in France and Germany and the tailfins in Spain.

The parts are transported by air, sea and road to Toulouse in the south of France for final assembly.
