Some of the prototype aircraft will have 20 tonnes of flight test instrumentation on board.

The kit is there to measure about 150,000 parameters.

These include the measurement of stresses and strains, pressures and temperatures, movements of control surfaces and the behaviour of systems.

The kit is interconnected via 335 kilometres of electric cables.
