Dredgers on standby
Dredging work in St Sampson's Harbour is expected to start next week.

The barges that will carry the contaminated sediment are ready, as is the plant that will treat the material before it is landfilled in Longue Hougue.

Harbourmaster, Captain Robert Barton, said he hoped the contractors would start work on the seabed very soon.

Some of the dredging work will be done at night, but Captain Barton says residents in St Sampsons should be unaffected.
