St Sampson's mooring holders have been offered four options |
The allocation of moorings for boat owners being moved to allow for the redevelopment of a Guernsey harbour has been criticised. The States recently voted to approve plans for a marina to be built at St Sampson's Harbour.
Gary Blanchford, who campaigned against the marina, said moorings allocation was a mess.
He said he had been contacted by a number of boat owners who were expecting compensation for the move, but were now facing increased mooring charges.
Four options
St Sampson's mooring holders were sent a letter by the deputy harbourmaster earlier this year, offering four options for those having to leave St Sampson's.
Mr Blanchford said those who were returning to the harbour believed they would be paying St Sampson's rates for their temporary moorings, but some were facing increases of up to 900 a year.
He wants the situation looked at and clarification given of what the charges for those being moved from St Sampson's on a temporary basis will be.
Mr Blanchford also wants to know if the Board of Adminstration will follow up its pledge in the billet of July 2000 to compensate St Sampson's berth holders for the move.
