BBC World Service English is a 24-hour global radio and digital network that targets English-speaking listeners across the world. People consume BBC content through a multitude of platforms. These include traditional ones like shortwave, AM or FM; hundreds of partner stations carry our programmes; there’s listening live on the internet; many shows can be downloaded as podcasts.

We have a strong news and current-affairs offer that includes high-profile shows like Newshour and award-winning documentaries. In the next few years we will be able to have an even richer mix of output and showcase the best of British creativity in arts, culture and science.

We’re also building upon our digital offering, especially social media, and launching fresh ways of showcasing new and innovative journalism.
