Near East
The BBC’s Near East Region serves audiences in Persian, Pashto, Dari, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Turkish, through radio, online and increasingly TV.
BBC Persian produces one of the most popular TV channels in Iran. BBC Afghan provides a multimedia offering in Pashto and Dari for audiences in Afghanistan, Pakistan as well as diaspora audiences. The Central Asian teams – BBC Kyrgyz and BBC Uzbek - have a growing TV and digital presence, and BBC Turkey is innovating in digital journalism.
As all BBC World Service language services, the teams work together to bring the stories of the region to a wider, global audience.
We’ll be investing in digital journalism and TV for Uzbekistan, and are looking for great talent to join our team. If you are interested in becoming part of our team, view our current vacancies.
