South Africans encouraged to learn national anthem ahead of World Cup

Ahead of the World Cup opening ceremony, the South African government have produced a booklet to help South Africans learn the words to their national anthem.

The South African anthem is sung in five different languages: Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans and English and many South Africans do not know the verses that are not in their own language.

The World Today's Tom Hagler has been speaking to Jimmy Mulovhedzi, an African singer and songwriter, whose group The Soweto Gospel Choir will be performing at the opening ceremony.
