Afghan rescue death causes anger

The raid that led to the freeing of the British journalist Stephen Farrell from his Taliban captors resulted in the death of his Afghan colleague, Sultan Munadi.

There is growing anger within Afghanistan about the local journalist's death and the way the incident was reported.

A group of Afghan journalists have accused the troops of having double standards when it comes to Western and Afghan lives.

Stephen Farrell gave his own account of his rescue in an article written for the New York Times.

Barry Salaam was a friend and colleague of the dead Afghan journalist, Sultan Munadi.

As well as presenting the daily radio programme Good Morning Afghanistan, he is international relations officer for the Afghan National Union of Journalists.
