The last few months have been some of the most violent in the recent history of Pakistan, more than 600 people have been killed in militant attacks in the country.

One of the most recent bombings was in Pakistan's business capital, Karachi, raising new fears about the stability of the city and of Pakistan's economy.

There's already a delicate interplay between the economy and the security situation. Many people believe if there were more jobs, the militant groups would find it harder to recruit, says Business Daily's Lesley Curwen.
