Sylvain Chomet

Sylvain Chomet wrote and directed the award-winning animated film Belleville Rendezvouz.

His latest film, The Illusionist, is based on a never before performed script by French mime artist Jacques Tati.

Set in Edinburgh, the film explores the father daughter relationship through the story of a struggling Illusionist who meets a young girl who is convinced his powers are real.

Harriett met Sylvain and asked him how he first discovered this little known script.
