Chris Rock's 'Good Hair'

US sell-out comedian Chris Rock turns documentary-maker in his new film Good Hair.

Rock sets out to explore the idea of what makes "good hair," for African-Americans after his daughter asked why she didn't have good hair.

The answers presented in the film are by turns, absurd and fascinating.

For African-Americans burdened by the legacies of slavery and racism, good hair has traditionally been defined as hair more like white people's.

Chris Rock talks to Simon Pitts about hairshows and folicles.
