Since The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was first published in 2005, Steig Larsson's Millennium Trilogy of crime novels have become a worldwide phenomenon.
The success of the novels spawned the inevitable Swedish film versions and US re-makes of those are already generating a buzz.
The film adaptation of the second book in the series, The Girl who Played with Fire, has just been released.
Crime writer Michael Carlson reviews the film for The Strand.
