The Strand meets an icon of American alt-rock, Kristin Hersh, the founder and singer-songwriter of Throwing Muses.
She is a survivor of those exciting days when underground music rose to meet the mainstream.
She is currently marking up another industry first with her album Crooked - released as a book.
She talks to Anna McNamee about music, friends and horror lullabies.
