In Ivory Coast, the three-month stand-off between sitting president Laurent Gbagbo and his rival Alassane Ouattara exploded into intense battles in an area known as Abobo in Abidjan last week.
Yesterday the state television antenna in Abobo was attacked, taking the channel off the air in large areas.
The United Nations has warned that fighting is pushing the country closer to civil war.
The violence has forced hundreds of people from their homes, and some fleeing across the border into neighbouring Liberia.
Journalist Tamsin Ford has just returned to Monrovia, after visiting the border with Ivory Coast.
