Another day, another great line-up of acts. Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, Basement Jaxx and Jamiroquai were just some of the bands on show. The huge audience were in good spirits, despite the miserable weather. 'Awesome, just awesome,' said Dave, a Basement Jaxx fan who had travelled all the way up from Brighton for the event. 'I never expected it to be this good. The mud doesn't bother me.' 'I think it's great for Sunderland,' says Adam, a local Futureheads fan. 'The music scene here is thriving better than ever, and it's great that we can attract shows like this now.' The highlight of the weekend for me had to be the Black Eyed Peas, they should've been headlining. Likes of The Kaiser Chiefs and Interpol dont come close. Saturday was awesome but some idiots in the crowd during the foos spoilt it for me and my girls. We got caught up with a group of drunk guys beside us who were chucking themselves at everyone and young kids were getting squashed and people fell over..not nice. I just wanted to enjoy my favorite band but these guys just wouldn't calm down. The sunday was great though! Rosie

Massive thanks to jason carter at radio 1 for inviting me and my 4 mates from cleethorpes to the big weekend. Had the time of our lives and met so many cool people in and around the radio 1 broadcasting tent. Highlights of our weekend were firstly meeting fergie backstage before his set which was amazing. Also we were totally blown away by the sets from kaiser chiefs and chemical bros. Thanks in general to all at radio 1 for putting on such a great weekend.
