Freur went from Cardiff punk bands, via a huge international hit, to Underworld.
They recruited Burrows from The Fabulous Poodles and set about gigging around Cardiff and the UK. Major label CBS showed interest in the band early on, but wanted a phonetic pronunciation for the glyph they used as name and logo.
Armed with the name Freur, CBS signed the band, and they recorded their debut, Doot Doot.

The title track from the LP was released as a single, and although it barely registered in the UK top 60, it was a smash hit across Europe and the US.
The album didn't sustain the commercial success of the single however, and their career somewhat petered out in the next three years. A second album followed, Get Us Out Of Here.
Waggish critics asked if this was prophetic and, indeed, it seemed so as they called it a day in 1985.
Now free of art college and having exhausted the local music scene, four of the band moved to Essex in England, and formed an outfit they called Underworld.
