A collection of images showing the restoration and transformation of a Merryweather fire engine. The fire engine was based in Aberdare and was one of the first emergency vehicles to attend the Aberfan disaster on Friday 21 October, 1966.

It has taken the Welsh Area Fire Engine Restoration Society (WAFERS) nearly five years to restore the fire engine. Read the story on the Wales History blog.
