He talks to Arwyn about Wendys behaviour. Brain makes a quick exit when Arwyn tells him that he had seen Agnes the previous day. Agnes has invited Jac Whelan to her house for supper. He tells her that he has not seen Brian all week. The main reason being the fact that he is infatuated with his new family. Agnes tells Jac that she finds him a great comfort to her. Arwyn is in bed. He's again drunk. He drops a lit cigarette on the duvet. The room is ablaze.
