Brian, Wendy and the children are at a public fireworks exhibition. The children are pretty bored by the whole occasion. Brian suggests to Agnes that he would like to buy Arwyn Saunders' boat. She is not at all taken by the idea. Jenny tells Arwyn of Brian Rees' affair with Wendy Keating. The doctor is shocked at the news.
