1976: Ken Dodd's Liverpool
The English comedian, singer, and actor Ken Dodd appeared on Nationwide in 1976, welcoming Michael Barratt to his native Liverpool - "the greatest city in the world" - showing him the sights and teaching him a bit of Liverpudlian into the bargain.
Starting onboard the Mersey ferry, Ken holds court on all things from the liver bird to the cathedrals at either end of Hope Street, with the Duke of Wellington, rotating restaurants and a picturesque promenade in between, not to mention a visit to Knotty Ash.
This clip from Nationwide was originally broadcast on 25 March 1976
