1969: Liverpool Beacon – Love It or Hate It
It's known by several names including St Johns Beacon and the Radio City Tower. In 1969 Nationwide's Bob Langley reported from Liverpool on the new 380-foot-tall Liverpool Beacon, a tower with a revolving restaurant and observation platform which quickly became an iconic part of the city's skyline. But what did Liverpudlians think of their modern new landmark?
