You don't need expensive video cameras to make short films. Mobile phones are simple and easy to use and most now come with video capability so why not have a go. Neil Copeman from the Video Nation Network team has made a great little film to show you how it can be done and what to avoid.
Film in good light and keep the phone still
Use the highest resolution your phone/recorder allows
Stay wide, don't zoom to get a close up
Check the position of your mic and get close
Submit your video online or direct from phone
