TOADS By Kevin Jarvis A group of environmentalists go out at night with torches to rescue toads from busy country roads. In the spring the toads come out of the woods and stray onto the road where motorists run them over. Tonight hasn't been very successful - only two toads have been rescued so far.
Fiona Butler I regularly used to drive up a one track road which had a large pond on one side and an ancient wood on the other. At this time of year it was IMPOSSIBLE to drive up the lane without having to move toads. There were so many that you could not drive around them. Unfortunately a lot of people used this road and they were either ignorant to the toads being there or were too squeamish to get out and move them! Bodies everywhere!
