THUGS

Jack reads an article in the local paper about a mugging 25 years ago. There was no community service in those days; the offender was punished by a year in prison and twelve strokes of the cane, and it stopped him re-offending. Jack is fearful for himself and his wife. He wants a return to tougher sentences and corporal punishment for criminal assault. It's the only deterrent for these thugs.

I agree with him, but I do think some people would take the beating for the benifits of commiting that crime. StLu
It might have worked in your case, but that's basicly not a good solution. Life starts with birth followed by education. Some parents think that it is teachers' work and teachers think it's parents' work. They are both right but without communication between them, they'll get a terrible result. olstra
I totally disagree with Mr. White. In my opinion corporal punishment is not a suitable form of education nowadays . Ralf Starke
Sorry, I can´t agree with Jack. Corporal punishment doesn´t decrease the number of offences. Instead of that, we should talk about parents´responsibilty for their children. |
