Julie’s family came to the Uk from Hong Kong and she grew up immersed in the family takeaway business. But when it came to her own career she wanted to use her passion for art to reflect Britain's changing Chinese community.

Growing up as a British born Chinese has had a significant impact on Julie’s life. She chose to turn away from the family takeaway business to study art. But her work has brought her right back to the Chinese community which, she feels, is important to reflect and understand.
