NEEDLEWORK By John Macleod John, the Macleod clan chief, shows us a tapestry of his family's coat of arms hanging in the castle. It was sewn by his female ancestors in the 1820s. He both admires their work and also empathises profoundly with the restricted lives they were forced to lead, exemplified by the needlework. He is grateful to be living in the twentieth century.
