Claire has to get out of bed, because she's got to go to the lab. She's a third-year student at Leeds University and finds microbiology wicked. You incubate microbes in little plates of special jelly. Last week she was examining the microbes on her fingers, and today she'll get the results. She drags herself out of bed.
