EMPATHY
By Adrian Mason
Adrian used to be in the army, and he'd like to think he can empathise with the troops in Iraq at the moment. He feels the country should be getting behind the troops more. The soldiers there haven't signed up to shoot people, and he suggests other reasons they may have signed up. He thinks when they come back, hopefully soon, we should give them a big pat on the back, and perhaps a one-off bonus...

Julia
What we pay our troops is a national disgrace. The 18 year old soldier that lost his life would have been on about £10,000 per year. We have the best trained, disciplined troops in the world - why not pay them accordingly? We should all be proud of them.
