BASRA By Mark McClean Mark has been watching news reports of British troops entering Basra. The report showed Royal Marines raiding houses in Basra, and the preamble said that the Marines are making themselves known to the local population as liberators. The next shot was of guys kicking in corrugated iron doors, going through windows and terrorising the occupants, getting them to lie down, and putting handcuffs on them. It brought back memories of protests that happened when the British Army raided neighbourhoods in Belfast...
