I’m an asylum seeker since 3 years ago, Im higly skilled computer engineer, Ive worked as a volunteer in many professional offices in England, I never faced any hatred or dislike. Ever since the past three years ago if I was allowed to work I would have contributed a lots of many to this country by delivering education and paying tax.
Instead the government been paying my benefit, NHS, free courses…ets. And thats nothing they are paying thousands and thousands for my appeals at court!! Still not sorted.
So who is fault?!!!!

Sadly i couldn't see the video but refugees only come to this country because people (English people) are pushing them out of their homes. If English government didn't go to war with so many countries we wouldn't have so many refugees. And if you asked them where would they like to be most of them would say back in their own countries if there wasn't so much fighting. Anyway we are all human beings after all!

Asylum seekers are victims of circumstance as people say. But I live in soutend on sea. It used to be a traditional sea side town. Not Any More I and many others feel we are victim’s of there circumstance. Are town is now changed.....

To comment on Stuart Bailey's most scandalous and thought provoking fifth remark, Beston would certainly not be very well advised to return to Irak and reconstruct his country! How could he contribute anything at the moment when 1) he is most likely to be killed if he engages in any active movement let it be political or military 2) even the US and British armed forces are having a hard time to bring about peace in a country destroyed by war and destitution?

how can people be so racist most people are not here for a hand out and would work if the government would allow them to. i highly doubt that many assylum seekers or refugees have more than one wive. i think people here need to get a grip. the u.k. doesnt have nearly as many seekers as in many other countries who warmly welcome them such as canada. Most are also much harder working than the british especially in menial positions. The money they get from the government is not that much and many are often educated enough to work if they could be allowed to. They have escaped horrorrs in their own countries, and now we should welcome them.
Mark
if they really are vistims, and they are not out for a free meal, why do they travel through up to six different countries to get HERE? They are victims, yea, sure... yet when any form of liberation of their country starts to happen, they're up in arms, protesting through the streets. AND, when the reason for their assylum seeking is removed, will these so called victims return to their own country? Doubtful... who would leave a free meal. All I know is I'M paying for them, just like most of us, and we can;t even pay for our own

I am living with an asylum seeker and we have been together and very much in love for two years now. The thing about Britain is it's mentality the tunnel vision people see through. Some people in Britain are greedy it's excessive greed there is no more generosity or feeling of being able to help somebody less fortunate. I am also a nurse and do you know what it is NOT asylum seekers clogging the NHS it's NO financial extra's from the government as well as alcoholics and drug abusers filling up our wards. No one chould ever have to suffer racial torment it is completley un acceptable people are turning into animals and i for one hate it! What would happen if something happened to our country, flood's, war's, political differences what then? where would we go? and would we want to be treated the same as asylum seekers are in our country? think about these questions and think about your attitude!

It is refreshing to read these comments, we are bombarded by a massed hysteria, and promotion of hate from the media, as an attempt to deflect attention from the real injustices in society. It is good to see here that for every ignorant fascist and bigoted comment, there are three or four educated and reasoned views. If only this represented the views and intelligence of the rest of British society.

We should look after our own people first. There is too much poverty in this country already without more people arriving uninvited. Furthermore, immigration will not automatically provide a boost to our economy, but is likely to harm it. I have seen TV documentaries on assylum seekers and was not very impressed by the sincerity of the people I saw; they appeared to be a bunch of chancers to me.
Matthew Jackson
Beston Fatih seems so small and nervous in front of the camera. It captures how asylum seekers must feel in this country: Alone and isolated. He is here because he faces persecution in his own country. If we were oppressed in Britain as these people are in their countries i think that we would all like the chance of a better life abroad. The media have created this moral panic over asylum seekers and should be ashamed of themselves.

I am American and lived in London for most of the past three years, on and off as much as I could get away with as I couldn't work or stay more than 6 months at a time legally. I don't like living in America and I've tried every legal way I can to be able to move to Britain. I think it's unfair that I can't move to England and WORK for a living even though I (at the very least) speak the language and WANT to pay taxes and make a life for myself. People who don't even speak English or seem to want to engage in British culture, and still some ungrateful people who slander the government that feeds, houses and clothes them, get to live off of the government for free while educated, English speaking people like me have practically no alternative other than marrying a British person to move to Britain. Perhaps I should destroy my passport on the way over and fake an accent and maybe I will finally be able to live in England at the cost of the taxpayers I would prefer to share rank with.

I would just like to know where the racist remarks like, 99% of asylum seekers are here for a free meal ticket, come from. I believe that as human beings they deserve the same rights as so called 'british people.' I do not believe we have a 'unique culture and character' to quote Stuart Bailey, we are heavily influenced by Amercian culture, not enough by European (in my opinion) Look at Manchester, it is thriving and all because it is so diversely populated: European, American, Asian, African, Homosexual etc... I believe the only change an 'assylum seeker' could do would be postive.
Kurdo Allan
You (english people) should hate your government not me. I do not want free money and free services. All I need is work permit.
Ismail Khoshnaw
I am an asylum seeker, this is my first year in Britain. I am not on benefits, I do not want their money and free house.
I feared for my life that is why I am here, I am not on holiday. I like my country as you like yours and I do not hate you.
Andrew Shaw
I'm sorry but I feel nothing for him due to the fact that I earn sod all because I get taxed to hell to pay for asylum seekers who in some cases have 3 wives and 15 kids
Hadil Bakir
It is so sad to read some of the comments written here. British people have to understand refugees are here because your governments and your soldiers are the cause!! They initiate wars in different countries and then complain about refugees! I would like to make one point clear, whatever refugees get in this country like pensions and health care would not compensate for one millionth of the damage or suffering they have gone through. These benefits are not free, they are from their countries resources like oil that is taken for free from their countries! Open ur minds people and dont just love yourself!!
Sean Flanagan
I blame the tabloids for the current hysteria towards asylum-seekers. They use words like "bogus" and "scroungers". From what I see and hear, people like Beston are more likely to be victims of crime than perpetrators. There is no need for this sort of racism.
Rebecca
Before we tackle the issue of asylum seekers being here for all they can get, what about our own home bred scroungers. THESE people we KNOW have had at least the basics of a civilised life yet they STILL refuse to get up and do the jobs that are then offered to incoming migrants because they dont mind cleaning the toilets of the elderly which our council house reared locals won't do. The incoming migrants who have grown up in a lot less than two rooms for a family let alone a room per child and DEFINITLY not been helped by their government the way our local scroungers have been! Maybe we should send our ghetto population a message before turning on genuine cases of human rights abuse?
James Barkshire
I live near Lee on Solent and an asylum camp is being opened there. I have been told I am no longer welcomed at my dentist and doctors as asylum seekers take priority. My eldest son cannot be housed by the council because asylum seekers need the houses. They wonder why they are disliked? Wake up and smell the Java. 99% of asylum seekers are here for a free meal ticket and our pathetic government is leading this country to bankrupcy paying for them all.
Alex
From what i have seen in Britain there are more english people not working that the whole asylym seekers. Very convinient to say they do not work but you immidietely forget how many british people live on benefits. Think about it, Media has created in people's mind an image of the asylym seekers as some kind of not hard-working criminals whereas thats just a small percentage of the whole number of people coming in. Why dont u ever see what the percentage is in Britain. I can assure u will find more crimes and benefit seeking from British people who have all the good conditions in the world to get out there and find a job but choose otherwise.
Lynn
I really do sympathise with genuine assylum seekers, but I would like to know, would they all come here if benefits were not handed out as freely as they seem to be?
Jean Briggs
Our old and infirm are also victims of "circumstance". Why should they have to pay for their care when they have worked all their lives and fought, in some cases, two world wars for a safe and secure future. They are the ones who have also lost their security and financial independence to pay for the asylum benefits.
Emma Cross
People only deserve respect when the earn it, work for it and respect those that are feeding and sheltering them. From what I've seen traveling and walking the streets of London every day, most of them do not!
Marjorie
It's very strange to leave what you are used to and go to a strange land. What worsens it is if you are resented because people think you shouldn't flee for your life. I think no one likes being away from home and if things did get better where they came from they would gladly get on the next plane home
Thomas Chiad
In my experience most people who come to this country are here for all they can get. Free education, free housing, free health care. We pay for it all and they know it. I am not against asylum seekers, when the claim is real. More often than not it is not and this Government is always going to be a soft touch.
Patrick
Asylum seekers are making a mockery out of Britain. The only reason they flood here instead of stopping in other EU countries is the promise of welfare... Free house, free money and free services.
Merry Fleery
I know some asylum seekers commit crime, but we can't punish others 4 the crime that they didn't commit. We should give them a chance.
Fatemeh Hamidy
Nobody likes to leave his home country and go to strange country to live if he didn't have to. People in Europe can't understand this, because they have great life and be treated with respect. If they were in the same situation they would do the same. Nobody wants to live in other counrty where people hate them, but they have to.
Stuart Bailey
Unfortunately, I can't get into this video but would like to explain to Beston why asylum is feared by so many.
1. We are a small overcrowded island 2. Many incoming migrants undercut local wages and are exploited by commercial interests in doing so. The government turns a blind eye.
3. The unique culture and character is being eroded by mass immigration
4. The far right is profiting by the above in local elections
5. Beston would be well advised to return to Iraq and help build up his country
Fatimah
Asylum seekers are victims of circumstance that deserve the love of the country where they seek to settle. Britain should note that there is no condition in life that is permanent, therefore asylum seekers deserve love and respect, afterall the world is not our permanent abode. Please, immigration officers should be tutored on according their fellow beings with dignity. We should think about Jesus and extend love to others.
