Commercialism now means that Christmas isn't about giving in so much as it is buying for other people to make yourself feel good. I tried making some of my presents this year (audio cassettes etc.) they seemed to go down well and hopefully showed the most love for my family.

Nice to see a more realistic view of Christmas! These days Christmas is seen as just an excuse to get into debt. Just because you buy big, expensive gifts doesn't mean that anymore thought and time went into it! Surely the best present you can give is spending time with the people who matter to you the most. It's nice to see someone thinking about Christmas and why we celebrate it rather than out in the shops spending money!

This year, sadly, I wasn`t in a position to give any presents, and what made me feel worse was the fact that I received so many gifts myself! So I would definately agree, Chistmas is about giving. It makes you feel a much richer human being.
